Gershwin Bonevacia

Emerging as a poet, writer and performer, Gershwin was Amsterdam’s poet laureate from March 2019 to January 2022, publishing a composition each month in Het Parool. Despite suffering from dyslexia throughout his stormy rise as a poet, his struggle with written language has turned him into a creative wordsmith. In 2023, Gershwin appeared onstage in his own production entitled 'Terug naar Prinsenplein' (Back to Prinsenplein), in which he revisited his childhood in search of his ten-year-old self. In his workshops he focuses with the participants on the art of language, writing poems together and spoken-word performances.
